This is a great traveler friendly ER. There is lots of support from staff even when techs are short staffed. It is a Level 1 teaching facility so there are a multitude of people learning and teaching and you'll see a lot. I think everyone is for the most part friendly and approachable. I've only been voluntary sent home. When I work at East Madison Hospital, it's possible to be involuntarily sent home. You won't float within the hospital, just to the other ER on the East side of Madison.

The staff is very helpful and fun to work with. IABP/Impella/CRRT/ECMO are common. 8 bed unit. Q4hr charting, the doctors are mostly nice but they only place about 30% of their orders. No NP overnight, medlink used to page on call MDs. Floated to MICU/STICU/IMC/med-surg TELE/BMT Oncology.

The staff is wonderful and treats everyone fairly. Everyone floats on rotation so it’s even (core & travelers). Floated to only 3 other departments. Had a 1:3 in CVICU only once and they were stable pts/PCU status. OMNICELL for meds. It’s a little hospital with a big heart. They weren’t paying much but it was a decent assignment and the doctors were usually really nice and mostly placed their orders, like 80% of the time. Pelham is stunning 🌲
